Mercedes is introducing an entry-level Maybach S-Class S480 with their EQ Boost Inline 6 powerplant. The Maybach features a 7 longer wheelbase, active noise compensation, and way more. Outside it is more distinct than ever with this bold Maybach grille, front bumper, chrome side trim, glowing side badge, and unique wheel options with revised 20in monoblocks and stunning new 21in wheels as well. Rear steer is standard as are most safety features. It costs the equivalent of ₦105 million ($224,000) in China though if it comes to Nigeria’s Auto market, it would be in the mid ₦47 million ($100,000).
The W223 S Class Maybach in the US comes in S580 trim makes 496HP and 516 lb-ft of torque from a 4.0L TT V8 paired to a 48v mild hybrid system. Then comes the 6.0L TT V12 in the upcoming special edition Maybach. This entry model packs the 3.0L Inline 6 with EQ boost mild hybrid system to make 362HP and 369 lb-ft of torque and 0-60 in 5.8sec and an impressive estimated 27MPG.
But inside is even more Maybach than ever as well. Rear passengers can get adjustable seats with recline, heating, cooling, massaging heated armrests and door panels, footrests with calf massage, pillows, tables, champagne flutes, and more. The interior trim is more elegant too with striped wood trim on the doors, seatbacks, more Maybach logos, and specific parts like the gas and brake pedals. Upfront is the 12.8in MBUX screen and the 12.3in gauge cluster while the rear gets dual 11.6in displays.
