An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard; the only way to get a six-speed manual is to opt for the non-competition spec, which has 473 horsepower.

However, Isuzu has announced the release of the D-Max with a major restyle, modernised technology and a safety upgrade. It’s equipped with up to six airbags and comes with driver-assist features like blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
A new four-cylinder 3.0l turbo diesel engine bumps up outputs from the existing 130kW and 380 Nm to a more spirited 140kW and 450Nm.
The 2022 Isuzu D-Max also comes with an updated infotainment system that has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and can be operated via voice control.
